A man has been charged with being involved in drug supply and other crimes after an alleged burglary in Essex.

Essex Police were called to Hamlet Court Road near Ceylon Road in Westcliff at around 7:20pm on Monday (January 8) to reports of a “disturbance” and “burglary” at a flat.

Khalid Mohamud, 22, of Montpelier Gardens in Chadwell Heath was arrested on suspicion of burglary at the time.

However, he has since been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession of criminal property, possession of cannabis and a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (January 10) where he was remanded in custody until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on February 7.

Essex Police has urged anyone with information, dash cam or other footage in relation to the incident to come forward.
