A major kitchen supplier has opened a new depot in Rainham.

Located at Thames View Business Centre, the Howdens showroom launched at the beginning of this year.

A planning application to put up signage for the brand at the location was approved by Havering Council on December 29.

The brand, which has more than 800 depots across the country, has units in Romford, Hornchurch and Upminster and this is said to be their fourth in the borough.

A spokesperson for the Rainham outlet told the Recorder that they supply kitchens and bedrooms to the trade as well as joinery.

Local builders, they said, are helped by them as they “look after their clients” and “design and price their jobs”.

They also welcome customers looking for a tradesperson to fit their kitchen or other building works, they added.

However, the spokesperson clarified that their outlet only sells to the trade rather than the public to ensure their products “are installed to the highest possible standard".
