Police are investigating after a woman claimed she was injured trying to stop a child stabbing another child in Romford.

A post on X, formerly Twitter, by the woman on January 4 showed pictures of her injuries.

The child with the knife, she claimed, was no bigger than her 12-year-old child and the weapon was “monstrous looking”.

She added: “It sliced my thumb. I can’t believe this is what our kids are playing with.”
