Zara Aleena’s murderer Jordan McSweeney was caught having sex with a female prison worker, it has been reported.

Sexual predator McSweeney, 30, is serving a life sentence for murdering, sexually assaulting and robbing 35-year-old Zara as she walked home from a bar in Ilford in June 2022.

The MailOnline claims that in April last year the killer was caught having sex with a female prison worker at HMP Belmarsh in Plumstead.

The pair managed to gain sole access to a room in the prison then locked themselves inside, the paper reports.

This comes after it was originally reported in May last year that a staff member at the prison was being investigated over these allegations.

Metropolitan Police said they received an allegation on April 6 relating to an allegation of inappropriate conduct involving a serving member of staff at the prison.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The matter remains under investigation.

The worker, who is reportedly not a prison officer, has been suspended from duties.

Romford Recorder: Zara Aleena was murdered as she walked home from a barZara Aleena was murdered as she walked home from a bar (Image: Met Police)McSweeney, from Dagenham, attacked Zara for nine minutes as she walked home from a bar.

Prosecutor Oliver Glasgow KC told the Old Bailey: “Despite being only yards from a public street and from residential properties, the defendant attacked Zara Aleena with a savagery that is almost impossible to believe.

“Finally, once satisfied that she would no longer be able to report him for what he had done, he walked away, taking her mobile telephone with him which he threw over a garden wall, thus ensuring that neither she nor anyone else who might find her could use the phone to call for help.

“He walked back to the caravan where he was living and the following morning, having hidden the bloodstained clothes and shoes he had been wearing during the attack, was seen laughing and joking with his friends; seemingly without any concern for what he had done or for the fate he had forced upon Zara Aleena.”
