c2c has announced engineering works will cause disruption during the Christmas holidays.

The train operator has revealed its schedule for the works between Fenchurch Street and Upminster, advising customers to plan ahead and be flexible with their travel plans over these days.

There will be no service on the line on Christmas eve, on Wednesday, December 27, and on New Year's Day until 2.30pm, it said. Rail replacement buses will be operating between Upminster and Grays on these days.

In addition, Fenchurch Street station will be closed on Christmas Eve and c2c trains overall will not operate on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

A day by day breakdown of service alterations is listed below.

Saturday (December 23)

Services will be running as normal.

Sunday (December 24)

There are no services from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham. District line will be available between London, Barking and Upminster.

However, customers can use c2c services from Upminste,r with two trains per hour via Basildon to Shoeburyness and two trains an hour from Upminster to Shoeburyness via Ockendon/Tilbury. Replacement buses will be available for trains between Grays, Purfleet, Rainham and Upminster.

Monday (December 25)

There will be no c2c services at all.

Tuesday (December 26)

There will be no c2c services at all.

Wednesday (December 27)

There are no services from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham. Fenchurch Street station will be closed but the last service will run as per the usual timetable. The rest of the schedule is same as on December 24.

Thursday (December 28) to Friday (December 29)

A special service will operate based on the usual schedule with some additional trains during morning peak times.

Saturday (December 30)

The usual Saturday service will operate.

Sunday (December 31)

The usual Sunday service will operate.

Monday (January 1)

Until 2.30pm, due to engineering works there will be no service running from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham.

Replacement buses will replace trains between Grays, Purfleet, Rainham and Upminster. From 2.30 pm to 11.30 pm Limehouse to Upminster stations only will be closed this day.

The services to Fenchurch Street will be diverted via Stratford. Shuttle services will operate between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon and between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.

Tuesday (January 2) to Thursday (January 4)

The normal services will run as usual until around 11.30pm.

Friday (January 5)

A normal service will operate for the entire day.
