Christmas is fast approaching but there is still time to attend a great market and some events, so we have rounded up a selection below.

From Havering Christmas Land in Hornchurch to a festive market at Upminster Windmill, there is a strong mix for you to choose from.

1 Havering Christmas Land in Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch

Havering Christmas Land will run until January 1 on certain days.

The event had more than 25,000 visitors in 2022, according to organisers and mental health charity Havering Mind, in a "beautifully illuminated" historic setting.

Twinkling lights, a secret garden, Santa's grotto and mulled wine are just some of the attractions on offer.

2 Visit Santa at The Mercury in Romford

There is still time to meet Santa just a short while from your home.

People can do so every day until Christmas Eve from 10am to 5pm at The Mercury for £5.

The money will go to to St Francis Hospice.

4 Christmas Market at Upminster Windmill

Upminster Windmill is a scenic location at any time of year, but even more so during the festive period.

Its Christmas market will run from 10am to 3pm on December 23 where you can fill your stockings with crafts, sweets, trinkets and much more.

Singers will also be present for people to enjoy.

3 Christmas Craft Club at The Mercury

For those yet to buy all their presents and in need of a fun, hassle-free family day out, the Christmas Craft Club on December may be the solution.

There you can make last-minute gifts at The Mercury and make bath bombs at the craft club.

A £2 donation to join has been suggested, with the proceeds going to Women's Aid charity.

5 Helmsdalebury Festival in Rise Park

Starting at 5.30pm tomorrow (December 20) at 31 Helmsdale Close in Rise Park, Helmsdalebury Festival 2023 promises to build on last year's success.

Hot food, snacks, drinks, activity stalls and prizes will be on offer.

Proceeds will go to charity Cancer Research.
