Transport for London (TfL)  has announced that black cab fares will be increasing in London during the festive period.

It comes as TfL confirmed as part of the Christmas services timetable that a price hike for the taxis would be put in place. 

TfL shared that black cabs will be adding an extra £4 per journey to all passengers. 

The price hikes in London will start on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24 at 8pm and will last until 6am on December 27. 

The charges on black cabs will then return at 8pm, New Year's Eve, December 31 until 6am January 2.

TfL shares Christmas travel advice as services affected 

Transport for London (TfL) has shared official advice on how services across London will affected during the Christmas period. 

With many heading elsewhere during the festive time, the number of people commuting to work reduced seeing key engineering work take place on services seeing some closures on the London Underground network.

Closures and service changes are not set to start until December 22, meaning you have a few weeks to plan if you are travelling in London during the Christmas time. 

On the TfL website, they share: "Between Friday 22 December 2023 and Tuesday 2 January 2024, planned work, closures and service changes may affect your journey."
