Two EastEnders stars have opened a new Costcutter store in Brentwood.

Jake Wood and Ricky Norwood of BBC soap EastEnders opened a Costcutter in The Keys, Eagle Way, in Warley on Saturday (December 2).

The store owner, Peter Patel, was also present at the opening event.

Mr Patel said: “The opening of our new Costcutter store at Warley was a huge success.

"It was great to meet lots of new people who told us they are really looking forward to shopping in our new store," he added.

The store was formerly a Morrisons and had £150,000 refitting works ahead of being converted into a Costcutter.

The store owner said profits from deals would be donated to their chosen charity - Mind Thurrock and Brentwood.

Jake, who plays Max Branning in EastEnders, and Ricky, who plays Fatboy, looked delighted to be in Brentwood for the event.

Mr Patel, who owns ten shops across south-east England, said he was "elated" that the pair made it to the event.
