A girl's condition has improved since she was left fighting for her life after falling from a window in Harold Hill.
The five-year-old was taken to hospital after emergency services attended Darlington Gardens on November 18.
Met Police had said as recently as Saturday (November 25), that the girl was still in a critical condition.
But a spokesperson for the force has confirmed today (November 28) that the girl has improved and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of child neglect on Sunday, November 19 but has since been released on bail.
An eight-year-old boy found at the same address was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances continues.
