The owners of a new family-run food store have announced that it is set to open in Collier Row this month.

Family Market will offer a range of fresh fruits and vegetables, cakes, meat and fish among other items at its Collier Row Road shop from November 26.

Vladimir and Cristina Bezer, who will be running the business, told the Recorder that they decided to launch the store as they have a “strong passion for retail”.

Vladimir said: “After many years of working as a manager in this industry, we as a family decided to take matters into our own hands and start our own business.”

A premises licence application has been submitted by Vladimir to Havering Council on October 16 and a public consultation for it will end by November 13.

A copy of a notice, seen by the Recorder, said that the application for the permit relates to sale of alcohol by the store from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 10pm and on Sundays between 10am and 7pm.

The site used to be occupied by a tearoom called Storm in a Teapot and Londis, both of which shut down permanently.

Vladimir, originally from Romania, said a five per cent discount will be offered on all products on the launch day from 10am to 7pm, in addition to food, drinks and “good ambience”.

He added: “You are all invited to join the opening ceremony. Your presence and good wishes will encourage us to strive for success and provide high quality products in the market.”
