An investigation has been launched to find the owner of a dog that brutally killed a cat in east London.

Metropolitan Police were called to Belgrave Road in Ilford at 3.37pm on Monday (October 2) to reports of the attack.

In a video shared on social media, the dog - which MyLondon has reported is a suspected XL Bully - can be seen mauling a cat.

A spokesperson for Met Police has said that the cat was taken to a veterinary surgeon but did not survive.
