Havering is home to some top-rated primary schools with more than 60 of them in the borough.
An Ofsted inspection of the schools is conducted periodically to ensure that the learning standards are maintained, and any shortcomings are highlighted.
In May, the then Mayor of Havering, Councillor Trevor Mckeever, celebrated the schools for their positive Ofsted ratings in a special ceremony.
He had said during the event that he is “a product of Havering education” and that he “excelled” when he went to Havering Technical College.
Since January, 15 primary schools in Havering have been visited by Ofsted so far. Clockhouse Primary School in Romford is the only one given an “Outstanding” rating this year.
Two others, Drapers’ Pyrgo Primary School and the RJ Mitchell Primary school received a “requires improvement” grade, while all the others were found to be “Good”.
