The former partner of TV star Lauren Goodger has been charged with assault after an alleged incident that occurred on the day of their late daughter's funeral, according to reports.

Charles Drury, 25, of Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, June 14, Metro wrote.

He is accused of causing actual bodily harm to The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger and engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour.

The alleged incident took place in Upminster on August 4, 2022 after which Ms Goodger was hospitalised with serious facial injuries, Metro reported.

It reportedly occurred on the day of their infant daughter Lorena's funeral, who died shortly after birth.

Metro said Met Police arrested Drury on August 6 in 2022 after they were called to reports of an “altercation” at a residential address in Upminster.

They took him to an East London police station and he was subsequently bailed.

Drury has again been granted bail and will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on July 12.
