Readers have voted for their favourite place to go in the sunshine, with some interesting suggestions being made.

The Romford Recorder asked locals where was their favourite place to hang out when the sun is shining.

While some suggested local parks, such as Langtons or the "hidden gem" that is Havering Country Park, others chose to venture further afield to Leigh on Sea or even Turkey.

The top fan-voted locations include Tower Bridge, St Katherine's Dock and the South Bank for those who want to enjoy the city.

Meanwhile, some readers preferred the comfort of their home, with one suggesting their living room in front of a fan.

Many readers who suggested outdoor activities had a caveat for hot weather, with Langtons and Hornchurch Country Park being preferable as long as it's not too hot out.

Some suggested the shade or dark rooms to escape the heat.

With football season in full swing, there were also recommendations for Hornchurch FC for sports enthusiasts.

In contrast, some readers wanted to simply relax with a drink.

Several people suggested beer gardens or going to a nearby pub, such as The Bull Pub.

Others, however, preferred to escape Havering altogether, with suggestions ranging from Cornwall to Sicily.

While there were plenty of varied suggestions for places to go in the sunshine, some readers had more unusual locations in mind.

One reader suggested Iceland, while another opted for "beautiful and cool" Stanford Rivers closer to home .

Regardless of where people choose to spend their time in the sun, it's clear that Romford Recorder readers are a diverse bunch with a wide range of preferences.
