A man has been arrested on suspicion of looking into a woman's bedroom window.

The 26-year-old was arrested on Tuesday afternoon (May 30) after a woman called police on Sunday (May 28), reporting that a man had been looking into her Upminster Bridge home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man remains in police custody and MPS Havering have urged people not to speculate on his identity.

In a tweet, MPS Havering said: "We are aware of images circulating on social media of a man who is suspected of looking through a woman’s window in the early hours in the Upminster Bridge area of Havering.

"We would ask that you refrain from speculation and would like to highlight that we have not been made aware of any further related incidents."

Police said the arrest was made by officers from Havering Joint Taskforce and they are not looking for anyone else connected to the matter.

If you have seen similar incidents in Upminster, report them directly to the police as soon as possible via 101.
