Four people have been hospitalised after two cars collided on the M25 near Upminster.

Police were called at 3.47pm to junction 29 following reports of a collision.

Emergency services attended the scene and took four people to Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, a spokesperson for Met Police said.

They added: “The junction 29 slip road was closed while officers dealt with the incident.”

The crash has led to congestion and long delays with the entry ramp to junction 29 being partially blocked, the AA reported.

Long queues formed back to junction 27 too as onlookers drove slowly past the scene, it added.

The incident follows a fatal crash on Wennington Road in Rainham on April 19, when a woman in her 50s lost her life.
