There were miles of queues earlier after a three-vehicle crash on the M25 near Brentwood.

The incident, involving two lorries and a car, happened at its junction with the A12 near Brook Street today (March 7).

National Highways was notified about the crash at 11.13 am and they found a substantially-destroyed HGV at the site.

Specialist equipment was brought in to remove the vehicle and the A12 northbound was partially closed, causing three miles of congestion at its peak.

Police arrived on the scene a few minutes later and saw the vehicles involved in the crash causing an obstruction across three lanes at the anti-clockwise exit to the A12. However, no injuries were reported by the police.

The road was cleared and the traffic moved freely after 1.45 pm.
