A dealership is hoping it can reboot a former Romford Hyundai showroom to start selling a different car brand.

The two-storey building, on Eastern Avenue West, is subject to a planning application intending on turning it into a new Volvo showroom.

According to Car Dealer Magazine, East London Hyundai, as it was called, was built on an old truck workshop and opened in 2021.

However, in the new application, filed by the dealership Endeavour Automotive, it states the site was shut down in April this year.

Documents filed as part of the submission outline how the proposal intends on keeping much of the site as it is.

The plan is to use the ground floor of the main building for the showroom, reception and customer waiting areas, while the mezzanine would be used for administrative work.

A workshop providing MOT services and parts storage would also feature on-site.

If approved, the showroom is expected to be open from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday, and 1-am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Endeavour Automotive was approached for comment.
