HAVERING was celebrating over the weekend after songstress Stacey Solomon was crowned the Queen of the Jungle in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The singer who went to Havering College of Further And Higher Education in Wingletye Lane, Hornchurch was named as the winner of the ITV reality show on Saturday December 4.

A spokesman for Havering College of Further and Higher Education said: “We are really incredibly proud of Stacey’s success in the jungle.

“We recognised her star qualities when she was a student and have supported her all the way.”

In the final episode of the show, viewers saw Stacey, 21 from Dagenham going head to head with Shaun Ryder to win the crown.

Over the time in the jungle, the star who rose to fame after coming third in last year’s X Factor had to under go trials which saw her eating Kangaroo penis and Crocodile bum.

She was met out of the jungle by her son Zach, boyfriend Aaron Barnham and mum Fiona.

She said: “What the hell just happened! Thank you so much I dunno what to say.

“I’ve had the best time ever and Lord only knows I’m annoying so thank you for having me.

“I’ve eaten brain and cockroach, real Bushtucker, I never turned down a trial, I just thought;you can do it’.

“I was really scared because you have to get the food, it’s such huge pressure. I never thought I could actually do them, I didn’t ever think I could do it and I can’t believe that I did.

“I’ve found the trials a lot harder than what I thought, everything made me a nervous wreck at every trial. I never want to do another Bushtucker trial ever again.”

Stacey was studying for a National Diplopma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) at Havering College when she auditioned for last year’s X Factor and she quickly shot to fame.

Last week the college laid on a Bush Tucker Trial with real creepy crawlies as a fun event for students to support Stacey’s efforts in the jungle.

The monstrous munchies included Barbecued Worms and Thai Green Curry Crickets but most students just couldn’t stomach giving them a try.

The staff and students at the college are also planning to open a special rainforest cafe to celebrate Stacey’s victory in the reality TV show.

The Rainforest Cafe menu is set to feature a kangaroo dish made from the finest rump – and none of the less than tasty kangaroo bits that Stacey had to endure.
