Ryman League Cup preview
Ryman League Cup
Canvey Island v Aveley
Aveley go into this cup game off the back of a 2-2 draw against Wingate & Finchley in the Ryman Premier on Saturday.
They let a 2-0 lead – given to them by Spencer Harrison and Reece Morgan – slip and conceded in the 80th minute through keeper Dave Hogan’s own goal.
But their record at Canvey has been solid, with a 3-0 win at Park Lane just a few weeks ago with goals from Daniel Francis, Micah Hyde and Sherwin Stanley.
Skipper Hyde will be rested for the encounter as boss Carl Griffiths takes a look at a few of his squad players.
Cheshunt v AFC Hornchurch
Top of the table Urchins will also use fringe players for this League Cup clash.
But Jimmy McFarlane would still like his side to keep up the winning feeling ahead of an FA Trophy clash at Wingate & Finchley this weekend.
The Bridge Avenue outfit go into the game off the back of a 3-0 win over Kingstonian on Saturday, thanks to goals from Martin Tuohy, Lewis Smith and Frankie Curley.
Cheshunt on the other hand lost out 8-1 at home to Needham Market this weekend, and will be hoping it is not another heavy home defeat.
