Youngsters are set to kick start the Olympic Games by lining the route of the Olympic Park.
The students from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Lowshoe Lane, Collier Row will form a Guard of Honour as the athletes make their way through the Olympic Park on Friday July 27.
The pupils will be joined by 249 other schools from across the country to form the Guard of Honour holding lanterns and banners that they have specially created.
They will also get the chance to go on a tour of the Olympic Park to see some of the London 2012 venues.
The school was selected because of their commitment to the Olympics through the Get set network.
Seb Coe, the chair of LOCOG said: “For athletes, the Guard of Honour will provide a stunning welcome to the Games and the perfect curtain raiser for the Athletes’ Parade.”
