Commuters at Upminster will soon see the fruits of a 100,000 upgrade to the station.
The work, funded by train operator c2c, started this week and includes the repainting of platform equipment and benches, waiting rooms and the ticket hall area of the station.
The work is expected to take about a month to complete.
c2c’s head of retail, Hugh Jennings, said: “This project is all about giving Upminster station a facelift, for the benefit of all our passengers.
“We want to make sure the station is bright and welcoming in time for winter.”
