Fifteen unsigned Havering musicians this week saw their work go on sale in a Romford supermarket.
The Romford Underground compilation CD hit shelves in Sainsbury’s Romford yesterday (Tuesday). The album was compiled following a competition for local talent run by The Brewery and Panacea Records,
A judging panel that included the Recorder chose a shortlist and the final 15 tracks were selected in a public vote on Facebook.
The artists on the CD are Fiona Costello, Laura Duke, Luke Burr, Sophie Coates, The Mannings, Kiss-Off, Sleepywood, Doll Set Tones, Accidental Tourists, Tasha Kenny, Shouting Signals, Tom Loomes, Lucy Hall, Reachback and Dead Baby Birds.
The Brewery’s marketing manager Rubie Charalambous said: “The 15 tracks featured on the album really showcase what fantastic fresh and original musical talent we have locally. The CD will make a great gift for anyone with a love of good music this Christmas.”
