British Transport Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to after a Romford boy had his phone stolen on a train.
The boy, 16, from the Romford area, was on a train from Shoeburyness to London Fenchurch Street, on Thursday, October 25 when the incident happened at about 3.30pm.
While on the train at Basildon Railway Station he was approached by two men who told him to keep quiet and demanded his mobile phone.
When he initially refused, one of the men put his hand in his pocket, leading the boy to believe the men may have a weapon.
Detective Constable Michael Bute, leading the investigation, said: “No weapon was produced but the altercation understandably left the victim feeling very shocked and intimidated.
“The suspects then left the train shortly afterwards at Upminster rail station in the direction of Upminster shopping centre, with the teen’s Blackberry Curve phone, worth around 300.”
Officers want to speak to the two men in the picture and believe they may have key information to the incident.
