Police made two arrests at Queen’s Hospital in recent weeks as part of their overt and covert policing of the complex.

A 48-year-old woman, of no fixed abode, was seen acting suspiciously in the Romford hospital grounds by Pc Graeme Servantes, of Brooklands Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Enquires revealed the woman was wanted in connection with an allegation of shoplifting from Wilkinsons, in Wembley, west Lonodn.

She appeared at Wembley Magistrates’ Court, on January 9, where she was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment.

Sgt Stuart Mitchell arrested a 35-year-old man, on January 8, after the suspect allegedly subjected a nurse to a volley of verbal abuse.

The police decided to take no further action.

Sgt Mitchell said: “My team will continue to work with the hospital security team to tackle crime and disorder at Queen’s Hospital.

“We have had a number of positive results recently and are working with partners to make the hospital a safe and secure enviroment both to work at and to visit.”
