A netball club has raised £200 for care at St Francis Hospice by holding a fancy dress party.

The junior section of New Cambell Netball Club, which includes girls aged six to 16 and is based at Robert Clack School, Dagenham, raised the money by making a donation to attend a fancy dress Christmas party.

Tracey Daly, secretary of the netball club, said: “The girls really enjoyed the party and were pleased to raise money and support St Francis Hospice, which is a vital local charity that has touched the lives of many people in the community we are based with the specialist care it provides.”

Rochelle Hodds, a hospice fundraiser, said: “The hospice would like to thank New Cambell Netball Club for its continued support and I’m pleased the girls enjoyed the party.

“St Francis Hospice depends on the generosity of the community to help raise the money needed to enable the medical team to continue providing care to around 3,000 people each year.”
