Decking a home with much more than boughs of holly saw thousands raised for charity.
A collection to go with a Christmas light display at the Broxhill Road, Havering-atte-Bower, home of Sylvia and Terry Littlewood took more than £3,600 in donations.
In 2011 the display netted £2,900 for good causes, and the 2012 totaly is being donated to St Francis Hospice, Havering-atte-Bower, and the Barts Hospital in Central London.
Sylvia said: “The lights are down and the money has been counted. The total was amazing we could tell that it was going to be outstanding by the way family, neighbours, friends and loyal support from the general public regulars and newcomers were digging deep into their pockets.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us achieve the wonderful amount.”
