Our guide to the weekend’s non-league fixtures

Saturday

Conference South

Hornchurch v Maidenhead

Urchins are turning into draw specialists, having been forced to settle for a solitary point in each of their last four league matches.

Wayne Gray’s 88th-minute effort rescued them against Sutton at Bridge Avenue last weekend, after the visitors had broken the deadlock just four minutes earlier.

And Jimmy McFarlane’s men will be looking to complete a double over Maidenhead, following their fine 4-2 win at York Road back in early October.

Martin Tuohy netted twice that day, but has gone three games without a goal in recent weeks.

The division remains excrutiatingly tight, with only five points separating Hayes in ninth place and next-to-bottom Billericay.

Hornchurch, who have added Billy Coyne and Chris Bourne to their squad recently, find themselves in 18th place with a third of the season remaining and need to rediscover the winning habit soon.

Ryman Division One North

Heybridge v Romford

Boro are due to visit Scraley Road this weekend and will be smarting from the 5-0 thrashing handed to them by Swifts back in late November.

They began well enough at Ship Lane, with captain Jack Barry having a header cleared off the line.

But Swifts broke out through Solomon Ofori to take the lead and the same player doubled their advantage just past the hour mark.

James Bunn added a third on 75 minutes and Michael Cheek struck twice in the closing stages to give the scoreline a more flattering look.

Boro have won three of their nine Ryman Division One North matches since, but suffered 5-0 defeats at Chatham and Wroxham along the way.
