Romford’s remarkable run continued as they ran riot against Redbridge at a sunny Ship Lane to make it seven Ryman One North wins in a row.

Tom Richardson scored twice in the five-star display with Nick Reynolds, Abs Seymour and Dan Jones also getting in on the act to continue their momentum ahead of Tuesday’s game against landlords Thurrock.

Redbridge were unlucky not to go ahead after five minutes though when Dan Smith was given too much time on the right and picked out Lewis Bentley but he headed against the crossbar before Emiel Aiken sliced wide.

Bentley’s game ended prematurely when he was forced off with injury before Romford took the lead with Redbridge waiting to bring on Ben Bradbury in his place.

Jones ran through on goal but dithered allowing Motormen keeper Dean Driscoll to come for the ball, it broke loose however and Richardson was on hand to poke in from close range.

Bradbury came on after the goal before we had another stoppage when Seymour clashed heads with Liam Thomas.

When play resumed it wasn’t long before Romford doubled their lead through Reynolds, although George Woodward played a huge part in the goal.

Woodward whipped in the corner kick for Boro and put the ball on a plate for Reynolds to nod past Driscoll.

Redbridge pushed to halve the deficit and Aiken might have pulled one back but he curled wide from just outside Boro’s box.

Just 50 seconds into the second period and Romford added a third to essentially secure the three points.

Reynolds’ throw was cleared back out to the Boro forward and his ball in was headed home by Seymour.

Romford were in full flow now and Richardson’s flick allowed Reynolds to play Dan Jones through on the left but his shot, after cutting inside, fizzed wide.

To Redbridge’s credit they enjoyed a prolonged spell of possession as they battled to come back but the home side soon added a fourth.

The visitors failed to clear their lines and Seymour showed great composure to set the ball perfectly for Richardson to curl into the net.

Jones got himself on the scoresheet to make it five after more good work by the excellent Woodward and Richardson.

Woodward played a superb ball out to Richardson, the Boro man burst past Smith before cutting back for Jones to fire into the roof of the net.

Redbridge again pushed to reduce the arrears but they failed to test Ngoy and Romford went on to secure a comfortable seventh successive league win.

Romford: Ngoy, Ottley, Dicks, Woodward, Ishmail, Clayton, Norris (Oates 58), Seymour (Hart 80), Reynolds, Richardson, Jones (Imbert 77).
