Hot Hot events, run by Tom Kembery, of Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, is bringing the kingdom of Arendelle to life next month.

The company, known for its immersive fantasy events it hosts in London, including Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland themed restaurants, decided to host an event closer to home after Tom’s nieces missed out on a Frozen Princess Ball last month.

Former Redden Court School pupil Tom, who read about the cancelled event in the Recorder, said his sisters convinced him to do something for children.

“We’ve never really done kids events before but my sisters said why don’t you do something locally for all the children.

“It’s gone from being just a small production to what is now a giant marquee with the ice kingdom built inside it. It was costing £5,000 now it’s more like £20,000 – it’s costing me a few quid!

“We just wanted to create something amazing and local for people to enjoy. It’s as close to Disney as you will get.”

The event will take place during February half term (16-22) at Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker Show Ground near Brentwood.

It will feature princess performances, character meet-and-greet, games, a real snow pit, boutique market stalls, a princess parlour, fancy dress parade, photography opportunities, a frozen feast cafe and children’s disco.

It looks set to be another success for Tom, who worked primarily in the fashion industry doing advertising before crossing over into events with Hot Hot.

“We’ve been doing it for just over a year and it’s been great. We’re known for our Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland pop-ups in London. We did a Great Gatsby event too, that was our first big proper party.”

The event is now in production but tickets are on sale.

They cost £15 and can be bought from hothotmag.com/events.
