Two buses have crashed in Upminster, bringing traffic to a stand still.
The number 248 buses were going in different directions on Avon Road when they collided at about 3.45pm – meaning passengers had to get off and walk the rest of their journey.
Witness Peter Smith, 46, who himself owns a transport company, said the drivers “tried to get through a gap that wasn’t there.”
“I don’t think anyone was hurt,” he said. “But the road was at a complete stand still. They’ve cleared it now but there was five buses backlogged – everyone had to get off and walk.”
