Hundreds of families gathered in Romford Market on Thursday for the annual Christmas lights switch-on we have all been waiting for.
There was plenty of entertainment to keep the crowds entertained last week while everyone eagerly awaited for the town centre to be brought to life with twinkling lights.
From live performances from winner of The Voice Kids Jess Folley and X Factor contestant Taliah Delarto, to SupaNova LED light show dancers and the cast of this year’s Queen’s Theatre pantomime Beauty and the Beast, there truly was something for everyone.
But it was down to the mayor of Havering Councillor Linda Van den Hende to press the button, which not only turned the lights on signalling the beginning of Christmas, but began the firework display which mesmerised those on stage and the audience.
