A Titanic enthusiastic that built a model of the ship, has loaned his creation to a museum as it is due to hold an exhibition on the British passenger liner.
Romford resident Brian Hopwood constructed the model through a weekly magazine and had to purchase more than 100 editions to complete his masterpiece.
The model is now on show at Havering Museum, High Street, Romford, in preparation for its Titanic: Honour & Glory exhibition from April 7.
Brian said: “I saw the Recorder’s article on the exhibition and I thought I could help the museum.
“Like many people, I am fascinated by the Titanic and the museum is a wonderful place for this exhibition”.
Director Ellen Owen said: “This is a wonderful exhibition which also features stories from local people who have a connection to the ship.
“We do hope that people will visit the museum and enjoy this inspiring exhibition.”
