Speakers at a mayor’s lunch event hosted by a disabled women’s charity highlighted the message of “peace and unity” in all faiths.
The 15th annual Redbridge Disabled Women’s Welfare Association (RDWWA) event at the Jack Carter Centre, The Drive, Ilford, coincided with the group’s Eid celebrations, with more than 100 group members joining in.
Guests included Redbridge Mayor Cllr Gurdial Bhamra, Cllr Barbara White, Cllr Chris Cummins, Cllr Bob Littlewood and Cllr Muhammed Javed.
RDWWA chairwoman Abida Iqbal said: “Our guests all talked about how all faiths have the same message of unity and peace.
“Rabbi [David] Hulbert in his speech invited us to visit his synagogue and we’re delighted to accept his invitation.”
The group is also set to visit Jerusalem with the East London Three Faiths Forum in October.
