A free event which aims to build a better picture of life in London through film and preserve it for future generations will take place this weekend.

London’s Screen Archives Three-Year London: A Bigger Picture project will be held at the Redbridge Drama Centre, Churchfields, South Woodford, on Saturday.

The charity have been collecting, restoring and screening films over the last three years across 15 boroughs, including Redbridge.

A spokesman said “This project allows residents to discover the history of their area through film and aims to bring screen heritage alive.

“They also want to encourage them to get involved by sharing their own archived media.”

The screening will consist of a collection of the best films produced by the LSA and will be accompanied by live music.

The event will begin at 7:30pm and last for an hour.

Tickets can be purchased on the door, or in advance.
