A 12-year-old boy from Collier Row is the second local youngster facing magistrates following the riots in Romford last Monday night.

The schoolboy attended Highbury Corner Youth Court on Saturday (August 13) charged with non-residential burglary and criminal damage, following an attack on The Bank clothing company in the Brewery, Romford.

The boy, who did not enter a plea, was bailed to return to the same court today with conditions not to enter Romford Town Centre and a night-time curfew.

The case follows that of an 11-year-old Romford boy, one of Britain’s youngest looters, who admitted burglary in Highbury Corner Youth Court on Wednesday, after stealing a waste bin from Debenham’s window display last Monday night.

His case was adjourned until August 31 at Havering Youth Court.
