The people of Upminster gathered yesterday to commemorate servicemen and women of the past and present.
More than six hundred people rallied around the Upminster War Memorial to join other services across the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday.
A parade from the British Legion Club in St Mary’s Lane arrived at the memorial for a service conducted by Rev Susannah Brasier of the Church of St Laurence Church, Corbets Tey Road, Upminster.
Those from community groups, councillors, cadets, voluntary groups, the British Legion, military, scouts, cubs, girl guides, brownies and many other groups and organisations laid wreaths by the memorial.
