The festive period officially started last night as the Christmas lights in Romford were switched on by special guests.
Thousands flocked to Romford Market Place for the official illumination of the town centre and were treated to fireworks, music and a speech from the mayor, cllr Linda Trew.
Britain’s Got Talent’s James Smith, the X Factor’s Lydia Lucy, CBeebies presenter, Alex Winters and TV’s Little Charley Bear all gathered on stage for the event.
