Combating the Covid-19 pandemic presents to our nation and the world at large an exceptional set of challenges.

The government will be doing everything we can to protect lives, guided by the best scientists and clinicians in the world.

In parliament, the Emergency Coronavirus Bill introduces a range of necessary but strictly temporary measures to protect life, increase NHS capacity, strengthen social care and help each one of us to take the right action at the right

Combating this virus requires a huge national effort involving everyone. Life will change for us all during this exceptionally difficult period as we make the protection of life the priority that overrides all.

By planning for the worst and working for the best, we shall get through this. Until then, we hold in our hearts those in Havering who are suffering and those who are sacrificing.
