»Eighties post-punk legend Adam Ant will be heading into Southend later this month.

He will be performing his classic hits at the Cliffs Pavilion in Station Road on Saturday, July 28 at 8pm.

Adam first found fame in 1980 when he was thrust upon the general public with his first national television performance on the BBC’s flagship music programme Top of the Pops.

Hits

The show launched Adam’s face, along with his relatively new band, into millions of living rooms in the UK and their ferocious but fresh new sound enabled the direction of British music to take an exciting new turn.

For almost two years Adam and the Ants dominated the charts with their singles and subsequent albums, especially Kings of the Wild Frontier, the band’s second, which charted for 66 consecutive weeks, 12 of which were in the number one position.

You can expect to relive some of the hits again including Press Darlings, Jolly Roger, Dog Eat Dog and many more.

Tickets are £23.50 and £29.50 from the box office on 01702 351135.
