»Havering Music Makers will be returning to the Queen’s Theatre next month with a classic musical.

The amateur drama group will be performing Hello, Dolly! at the theatre in Billet Lane, Hornchurch, from July 5-7.

The musical tells the story of meddling matchmaker Dolly Levi, who is on a quest to find a wife for half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder.

Along the way, she succeeds in matchmaking several unknowing people and pulls strings to thwart Vandergelder’s marriage so she can marry him herself.

Hello, Dolly! features a host of popular hits, including Before the Parade Passes By, It Only Takes a Moment and, of course, the title number.

Havering Music Makers were formed in 1976, and rehearse every Tuesday and Sunday.

Chairman Louise Gee said: “If you’re looking for an evening or afternoon out at the theatre that can guarantee to leave you smiling for the rest of the day, then book your tickets now.”

Tickets are £15 for adults, and £12.50 for concessions.

Evening performances are at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
