Audiences can celebrate Christmas in the style of the old fashioned big band era at a special event next month.

A Swinging Christmas is set to take place at Swingalls in Romford United Services Social Club in Mawney Road on Friday December 9.

Starting at 8pm, you will be able to dance to all your Christmas favourites played by the resident band the Jeff Short Orchestra.

You can look forward to Silent Night, We Wish You A Merry Christmas,Twelve Days Of Christmas and many more.

The dance sessions, which take place every month were started by Brian Moore in September as part of a lifelong wish to stage regular big band dance nights.

Brian said: “Both old and young will experience a wall of sound performed live to just sit and listen to, or to dance to. With the popularity of Strictly Come Dancing, this is an opportunity to enjoy and participate in a similar evening.”

Brian, is also planning to hold a Hollywood themed big band dance nights in the New Year.
