The Metropolitan Police have issued a condition update regarding a man injured in a shooting in Plaistow. 

The Met confirmed today (January 25) the the 25-year-old remains in a life-threatening condition. 

He was shot in East Road on January 22 and was taken to hospital for treatment. 

Three days later, his condition remains the same as police are appealing for those in the area at the time to come forward.

Police were dispatched at 11.59pm on January 22 to the residential street in response to reports of a shooting.

Det Insp Mat Freeman said: "We know that when this happened there were members of public and vehicles driving nearby at the time.

"Did you capture anything on your phone, or on your dash cam if you were driving?

“Any piece of information, no matter how irrelevant it may seem, could be crucial in piecing together what happened."
