St Peter’s Catholic Primary School girls’ football team won the Havering Primary Schools cup final, topping off a tremendous season of success.

Their winning ways started in February when they won the Chelsea FC Foundation Havering Schools tournament, beating St Joseph’s 1-0 in the final.

Following this victory, they were asked to represent Havering in the London Youth Games and brought home the bronze medal for the borough.

In June they entered the Linda Galloway Cup, battling through to a win a close fought final with Clockhouse School, where a single goal scored late in the second half separated the two teams.

The season then culminated with the Havering Primary Schools cup final where on a scorching hot afternoon and another hard-fought match they came out eventual 2-1 winners against St Marys.

Captain Lucy said: “Our teamwork and determination helped us to do our very best.”
