Stars visit for top of table clash

The Elite League’s top two sides in the table clash at the Arena Essex Raceway when the Vortex Lakeside Hammers take on King’s Lynn tomorrow.

It’s the toughest test yet for the home side and following a poor performance from their top three riders, which cost the team dearly in their 50-40 loss at Poole, promoter Jon Cook expects his men to raise their game.

He said: “There are no excuses come Monday. We need the win and our heat leaders need to show the way.

“Fans have every right to be upset when the same riders perform elsewhere after abject showings for their actual team. On Monday they can put that right.”

The action gets underway at 7.30pm and children can gain entry for just £1.

Vortex Lakeside Hammers: Mikkel Bech, Lewis Bridger, Adam Ellis, Peter Karlsson, Richard Lawson, Ben Morley, Davey Watt (captain).

King’s Lynn Stars: Kenneth Bjerre, Niels Kristian Iversen, Lewis Kerr, Robert Lambert, Nicklas Porsing, Lewis Rose, Rory Schlein (captain).

*Lakeside’s trip to Swindon has been rearranged for Bank Holiday Monday August 25 at the Abbey Stadium.

The original fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged track earlier this month.
