Top two meet in Elite League showdown

Vortex Lakeside Hammers are out for revenge against runaway Elite League leaders King’s Lynn Stars at Purfleet tonight (Friday).

Stars are the only team to win in Essex this season, but Hammers bring in British Final sensation Ben Barker for Lewis Bridger for a meeting in which they will start as underdogs.

King’s Lynn are rewriting the Elite League record books this season, but Hammers promoter Jon Cook said: “This is the big one. We have had two great home meetings to prepare for this and with Ben (Barker) in great form and thankfully fit we should be in for a very exciting night.”

Hammers: Ben Barker (guest), Mikkel Bech, Adam Ellis, Peter Karlsson, Richard Lawson, Ben Morley, Davey Watt (captain).

Stars: Lewis Blackbird (guest), Jan Graversen (guest), Neils Kristian Iversen, Robert Lambert, Scott Nicholls (guest), Lewis Rose, Rory Schlein (captain).
