Students selected to attend Chelsea session

Redden Court School’s PE department selected 15 students to attend a special training session with Chelsea’s women this week.

The students were chosen based on their ability and application in lessons and attendance at extra-curricular clubs and observed Chelsea’s professional and semi-professional players train at their Cobham base.

They also had the opportunity to meet England internationals Katie Chapman and Eniola Aluko, who have a combined total of over 160 caps, for a question and answer session.

The players gave excellent advice to the students about managing their studies and training and spoke about the sacrifices that have to be made in order to achieve their goals.

Redden Court’s Jenny Canty said: “As always the students behaved immaculately and were asking relevant questions throughout the training session.

“The students were also able to transfer what they had learned to their extra-curricular football club the following morning.”

Squad: Emily Diwell, Scarlett Jacks, Alanah Jefferies, Josie East, Louise Banham-Scott, Katie Hawkes, Robyn Smith, Hannah Wood, Grace Roberts, Grace Pickford Molly Ayris, Freya Duffy, Charlee Harrop, Sophie Sands, Kristy Robinson.
