National Cup: Shenfield High 6 John Warner 1

Shenfield High School’s under-13 girls stormed into the quarter-finals of the National Cup with a convincing win last night.

Ellen Hoad produced a player of the match performance with four of their six goals against Lee Valley’s John Warner to continue a stunning season for the Shenfield pupils.

The under-14 girls and under-16 boys are into the last 16 of their competitions, while the under-15 boys reached the last 64 in the country.

The under-14 girls visit Kent’s Erith School, while the under-16 boys, after beating Framlingham Earl High School by a 6-1 margin earlier this month, will travel to Notley High or Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy in the new year.

Teacher Garry Sapsford said: “It really has been an outstanding football season at Shenfield.”
