Essex U15 Cup: Davenant 1 Marshalls Park 7
Marshalls Park’s under-15 boys eased into the next round of the county cup with a super seven-goal haul last night.
The visitors wasted several early chances, with Thomas Burke and James Sammons missing from close range.
But Harry Potts broke the deadlock with a cheeky lob from just inside the box and Alex Seth’s double put Park 3-0 up at the break.
Park played some impressive football after the restart and Reyen El Hafidi got in on the act with a brace of goals.
Reece Povey also struck, before Potts claimed his second to complete the tally.
Davenant grabbed a late consolation but there was no denying rampant Park.
PE teacher Paul Aylett said: “The boys played well and there was some neat football played by us in the second half.
“We now need to focus on the next round. With lots of games this season it’s important the squad continues to see games through.”
Keith Gerrard helped Britain win a bronze in the European Cross Country Championships on Sunday, and immediately trained his eyes on targets for 2014.
