Havering Cup campaign opens in style
Redden Court’s year eight rugby team celebrated a convincing win in their opening match in the Havering Cup yesterday.
The Harold Wood pupils ran out 45-0 winners over a mixed Campion side after a fine team display, led by a hat-trick of tries from openside flanker Billy Stinton.
George Foley, Max Shepherd, Sebastian Dogru-Williams, Joseph Piercy, Jack Tull and Nathan Clark also touched down in the rout, with scrum-half Dogru-Williams influential throughout with excellent decision making.
Jacob Roberts produced a solid display in defence for Redden Court, who gradually settled into the game and in the second half looked to attack from quick ball. Kye Burkett and Harvey Morement in the second row ensured that rucks were won and the game flowed well.
Assistant coach Mitch Bogard said: “Rugby has come a long way at Redden Court School and this result shows the standard that the boys are keen to play at.
“They are looking forward to their next outing.”
